Job Specification Gyrodata seeks two (2) Field Trainees, which will be trained in operating company survey instruments for basic survey operations.

Duties / Essential Functions
  • Adherence to Company policies
  • Adherence to client HS&E policies
  • Understand the theory of gyroscopic and magnetics surveying
  • Responsible for pre-job preparation of surveying equipment to high quality standards and to ensure pre-job logistics are complete
  • Responsible for accurate preparation of pre-job paper work
  • Responsible for the safe and effective delivery of survey data to the rig site including:
    • Pre-job and on site equipment testing
    • Rig up of survey equipment
    • Perform surveying services
    • Rig down of survey equipment
    • Post-job on site equipment testing
  • Post job shop responsibilities include:
    • Clean, service and label all equipment after jobs
    • Post-job office equipment testing
    • Complete post-job paperwork and related files
    • Ensure all post-job files are submitted to office in a timely manner

HSE Function
  • Cooperate with management in promoting, developing and maintaining a safe place of work and safe working practices and in meeting statutory health and safety requirements
  • Report any work methods, plant, equipment or conditions in their work area which they consider to be hazardous and submit suggestions to improve or remedy the situation
  • Drive defensively at all times observing posted speeds and traffic signs and adjusting driving as needed to meet road condidtins
  • Prepare report for any accidents / incidents (including near misses) which could have caused injury, damage or loss of production
  • Be aware of the hazards of field and shop work. Ensure safety clothing / equipment is provided and maintain this clothing / equipment in a clean and serviceable condition and immediately report any faults

Education / Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Standard active driver's license
  • Some Microsoft Windows experience (general computer awareness/experience)
  • Basic hand tool use and knowledge

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 16 hours
  • Ability to sit for 16 hours
  • Traversing a staircase multiple times for up to 16 hours
  • Grasp and hold hand tools and other types of equipment
  • Be able to function mentally and physically with lack of sleep
