Job Specification Gyrodata is seeking a Lead Wireline Field Engineer who will be a member of the Wireline Operations division within Gyrodata and as such will be performing wireline services and providing a service for our clients. The Lead Wireline Engineer will enable us to utilize our Wireline Department to run our tools instead of a third party company.

Duties / Essential Functions
  • Runs wireline units at rig location (both diesel and electric) and be able to troubleshoot wireline
  • Operates Wireline in conjunction with steering tools
  • Learns software applicable to steering and gamma jobs
  • Begins to learn assembly of steering tools
  • Assists in the repair and maintenance of all company wireline units when required
  • Obtains rig site work permits
  • Assists field engineers in the field when necessary
  • Assists operations staff
  • Assists training of field engineers and wireline technicians
  • Performs pump-down wireline services including use of side entry subs and circulating head c/w pack off and flow tube
  • Maintains and certifies sfs and circulating head c/w pack off and flow tube
  • Changes wireline on all units
  • Services and prepares unit for third party inspections
  • Services modified drilling swivels (top entry sub and top drive)
  • Helps with circulating head and pack off
  • Assembles tools on job site
  • Solves problems and/or analyzes and applies judgement
  • Successfully complete the service for the client
  • Manages and trains other employees
  • Works with other cultures and needs to display sensitivity to other cultures

HSE Function
  • Cooperate with management in promoting, developing and maintaining a safe place of work and safe working practices and in meeting statutory health and safety requirements
  • Report any work methods, plant, equipment or conditions in work area which are considered to be hazardous and submit suggestions to improve or remedy the situation
  • Report accidents/incidents (including near misses) which could have caused injury, damage or loss of production
  • Displays awareness of the hazards of their work e.g. office machines fitted with guards e.g. shredders, guillotines
  • Correctly uses any safety clothing/equipment provided and maintain this clothing/equipment in a clean and serviceable condition and immediately report any faults
  • Takes reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by their actions
  • HSE Training – Croners Health and Safety Training Resource (reviewed quarterly)
  • Quality Assurance Training - Introduction to BS ISO 9001 Manual

Education / Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Minimum of one year wireline/steering tool experience
  • Work with computers (technical skills)
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • CDL required

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs.
  • Ride air hoist up to 10 feet, with exceptions, to place box clamp on wireline
  • Must be able to be on job locations for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand for 16 hours
  • Ability to sit for 16 hours
  • Traversing a staircase multiple times for up to 16 hours
  • Ability to grasp and hold hand tools and other types of equipment
  • Be able to function mentally and physically with lack of sleep
