Job Specification Gyrodata, a worldwide leader in precision oil well surveying, has an opening for an experienced Electronic Technician in the manufacturing and repair department.

Duties / Essential Functions
  • Requires strong knowledge of both analog and digital circuit theory
  • Repair and maintenance of electronic equipment returned from the field Troubleshoot analog and digital circuitry to the component level using schematic drawings, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, multimeters, and other test equipment
  • Requires technical knowledge of DC/DC power supplies, closed loop servo systems, micro controllers, data transmission circuitry and memory devices
  • Bench work consisting of light electro-mechanical assembly of down hole and surface oil field equipment using basic hand tools, splice/solder/assemble/repair cables and mechanical subassembles as well as good soldering skills. Must perform all job tasks with high quality and use safety standards
  • Solves problems, applies judgment and works independently, required
  • Achieves the outcome expected through guidelines outlined under job purpose
  • Works with other cultures and needs to display sensitivity

Education / Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED
  • Two years formal electronic technical school education and 2 plus years of work experience
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be trustworthy, conscientious, self motivated, dedicated

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to sit for 8 hours
