Job Specification Gyrodata Latin America is seeking a Field Surveyor for our operations in Latin America, The ideal candidate will be operating company survey instruments for basic survey operations based on a five year career development program.

Duties / Essential Functions
  • Adheres to all Company policies
  • Adheres to client HS&E policies
  • Performs pre-job preparation of surveying equipment to high quality standards and ensures pre-job logistics are complete
  • Prepares accurate pre-job paper work
  • Delivers, safely and effectively, survey data to the rig site including:
    • Pre-job and on site equipment testing
    • Rig up of survey equipment
    • Performs surveying services
    • Rig down of survey equipment
    • Post-job on site equipment testing
  • Performs post job shop responsibilities including:
    • Cleans, services and labels all equipment after jobs
    • Post-job office equipment testing
    • Completes post-job paperwork and related files
    • Ensures all post-job files are submitted to office in a timely manner
  • Oversees safe, technically correct and efficient operations of Company's survey instruments in field operations
  • Acts as senior Company representative during field operation liaising with client field representative and site operations personnel to execute an accurate and efficient survey service
  • Operates Company wireline unit as required
  • Oversees quality control of survey data acquired through field operations
  • Attends all appropriate safety and operations meetings while present at client field locations
  • Provides hands-on-training and subsequent evaluation of lower level field techs as required
  • Maintains survey equipment in local shop including test stand pre- and post-job drift analysis
  • Proactively maintains up-to-date technical knowledge base of survey methods and technology
  • Participates in monthly safety meeting and adherence to client HS&E policies
HSE Function
  • Cooperate with management in promoting, developing and maintaining a safe place of work and safe working practices and in meeting statutory health and safety requirements
  • Report any work methods, plant, equipment or conditions in their work area which they consider to be hazardous and submit suggestions to improve or remedy the situation
  • Drive defensively at all times observing posted speeds and traffic signs and adjusting driving as needed to meet road conditions
  • Prepare report for any accidents / incidents (including near misses) which could have caused injury, damage or loss of production
  • Be aware of the hazards of field and shop work. Ensure safety clothing / equipment is provided and maintain this clothing / equipment in a clean and serviceable condition and immediately report any faults
Education / Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and preferably in English
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must be a Field Technician for a minimum of nine months
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 16 hours
  • Ability to sit for 16 hours
  • Traversing a staircase multiple times for up to 16 hours
  • Ability to grasp and hold hand tools and other types of equipment
  • Be able to function mentally and physically with lack of sleep
