Job Specification Gyrodata is seeking a Monitor Field Engineer II. This job exists to lead the monitor product line in a positive direction. The ideal candidate will possess a significant amount of knowledge; experience, HSE criteria and professionalism the product line can offer to meet our client's field requirements. Will pass on these skills to our lower level field engineers.


Duties / Essential Functions

» Upholds Service Quality to the highest standards
» Prospers and creates a career path with direct contact with the coordinator. Through yearly objectives, this individual will be able to monitor their progression and career potential
» Upholds and presents themself in a professional manner any time he is on company business
» Be involved in direct customer contact with regards to pre-job planning and customer requirements
» Be able to lead at least 2 Monitor Product Line Services, excluding SWD may have competency in others to 2nd hand status
» Have the responsibility for training new employees in Monitor Product Line Services of competency
» Maintains direct focus on the client's requirements while performing with the utmost Safety in mind
» Solves direct problems in the field as well as assists with in-house problems with equipment, etc
» Achieves outcome expected for this position and is open with regards to the individual's career path.
» Follows strict guidelines set by yearly objectives and will be evaluated and appraised
» Works with many different cultures. There is great potential to work abroad in many different countries. Will be groomed to exude sensitivity towards other cultures
» Provides technical and operational expertise to external customers in a professional manner
» Performs assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering and measurement and of drilling principles
» Maintains equipment inventory and supervises movement to and from well site
» Checks equipment and advises repair requirements
» Maintains computer database for on-going jobs; prepares job ticket, daily reporting and end-of-well reports
» Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes
» Assists in any troubled situation either via phone call or on-site assistance to another engineer
» Is required to train employees prior to their "break-out" Level 2 status
» On call 24 hours/day
» Normal requirements within the field
» Assists in testing and verifying functionality of equipment within the shop
» Assists in normal upkeep of the shop, including housekeeping
» Assists in asset management and inventory control for the Monitor Product line
» May also be required to work in other product lines, if needed, due to increased activity or to fulfill a career objective

HSE Function

» This position promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations
» Ensures compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines


Education / Requirements

» Bachelor's degree preferred
» High school diploma or equivalent required
» Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, Geology or other technical discipline, or equivalent drilling rig experience
» Tensor experience or APS experience is desired
» Ability to communicate effectively in English
» Requires ability to read and interpret formation well logs and interpret directional survey information and other well-site data
» Must possess good communication skills, arithmetic, data entry and recording skills
» Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements.
» Proven competency in computer software
» Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude to standards required
» For promotions, this position is not limited to "Time In Position" but rather experience and knowledge with his equipment and service
» Becomes a Monitor Field Engineer II (FE-2) when he is evaluated and recommended for this level of stature
» This level is 1 step below FE-III.

Physical Requirements


» Ability to lift 50 pounds
» Ability to stand for 16 hours
» Ability to sit for up to 16 hours
» Traversing a staircase multiple times for up to 16 hours
» Ability to grasp and hold hand tools and other types of equipment
» Be able to function mentally and physically with lack of sleep
