RGS Wellbore Surveyor (RGS-WB)
Gyrodata's standard rate-gyroscopic wellbore survey system has expanded operational capability with seven run configurations.

1.75-2.06" OD Gyrocompass
Drillpipe/Tubing
Gyrodata began operating its high accuracy rate-gyroscopic survey instrumentation in 1982 with the introduction of the standard "Wellbore Surveyor". This system had a minimum OD of 2.5-inches and a length of 18 feet and ran on single or multi-conductor wireline. Now, that basic system has expanded with seven new run configurations with OD to 1.75 inches and length to 8 feet.
The basic RGS surveyor operates on single or multi-conductor electric wireline with real-time readout at surface. Directional data is collected at predetermined points downhole while the tool is stationary.
The Standard Wellbore Surveyor runs on electric wireline, single or multi-conductor, in the gyrocompass survey mode. Typically, the survey probe is run to TD and stopped at 100' intervals for 45 seconds on the outrun to conduct a survey. In a directional well, check stops are conducted in the build section during the inrun to correct for wireline depth discrepancies. A survey can be printed out at surface immediately upon retrieval of the tool.
