MONITOR™: SWD (Survey-While-Drilling System)

MONITOR™ is a mud-pulse telemetry directional measurement system for tracking deviation while drilling. Run by the rig crew, MONITOR obtains and transmits accurate, real-time inclination, azimuth and tool face measurements to surface. MONITOR™ also has the ability to provide tool-face readings in the event a well needs to be corrected back to vertical using a bent housing motor.

MONITOR™ is the ideal tool to:

• Monitor near boundary/lease-line wellpaths.
• Monitor tight geological targets.
• Monitor and correct drifting vertical wells.

MONITOR™ consists of a shock-isolated directional sensor package and electronics section housed in a beryllium copper pressure barrel with a batterypowered rotary pulser unit. Survey information is displayed on a simple LED screen and all user controlled adjustments are made with the use of a single turn-and-click knob. In steering mode, a wireless Driller's Readout and/or aPocket PC is available as displayed on this page.
