Well-Guide RSS™
The Well-Guide RSS™ is a fully closed-loop, automated Rotary Steerable System available in two sizes for holes from 8 3/8 to 17 1/2 inches. Well-Guide uses 'point-the-bit' steering to produce a smooth borehole and maximize drilling efficiency.

Rotary Steerable Cross-Section
- A rotating shaft is positioned within a non-rotating housting by means of bearings and actuators.
- With information from directional sensors, an on-board computer calculates a toolface and the transmission shaft is automatically deflected in the required direction by means of the system's actuators.
- The curvature developed by Well-Guide defines the borehole curvature.
- Automatic closed-loop control in both inclination and azimuth provides an accurate borehole profile with minimal surface intervention.
- Continuous steering while rotating:
- Accurate borehole of low tortuosity
- Less torque drag - Drilling course can be changed at any time:
- Accurate well placement - Turn rate can be adjusted at any time:
- Accurate well placement - Directional sensor close to bit:
- Accurate control - Can be steered to a gravity force:
- Steers in areas of magnetic interference
- Bearings and mechanisms do not see drilling forces:
- Reliable and long life - Bearings and mechanisms operate in lubricating oil:
- Reliable and long life
- Steers a conventional rotary drilling assembly:
- Maximizes reach
- Maximizes hole cleaning
- Reduces possibility of stuck pipe - Can simultaneously underream/hole open:
- Cost saving - Can be used below a motor:
- Faster drilling - Any MWD/LWD can be used:
- Operator has free choice - Operates in any formation:
- Completely versatility - Operates in any fluid medium - mud/foam/air:
- Complete versatility
