Responsibilities
Acting as field engineer with responsibility for job execution, overall performance of service and the provision of technical and operational expertise to third party representatives. Assist in recording operational data and complete relevant job documentation as set out by operations department guidelines. Provide external customer with relevant information regarding job progress, problems, and solutions and provide accurate job data. Provide operational advice on pertinent equipment technical / operational specifications to third party personnel in a professional manner. Work safely at all times and ensure that all safety standards are met and maintained.

Experience & Qualifications
Ideally a Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Petroleum etc.) coupled with a level of hands on skills. Strong communication skills, computer literacy, ability to work unsupervised and under pressure are paramount. A current driving licence and Norwegian passport are a must.

This role not only provides early responsibilities and excellent opportunities for career development but also extensive training in some of the most innovative technology in the oil and gas drilling field.

The successful candidate will undergo full training at our regional headquarters in Aberdeen, UK.

Gyrodata Ltd is currently seeking to recruit Mechanical Technicians to join our highly skilled team in Barrow-in-Furness to work on assembly, testing and servicing of Well-Guide RSS™.

The equipment consists of an assembly of medium sized mechanical components together with controls and hydraulic components. The ideal candidate will have completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical fitter and will preferably have experience working on high integrity systems. The work involves overtime including nightshift and travel to the Company headquarters in Houston to work alongside the local workshop team.

ELECTRONIC ENGINEERSThe successful applicants will work as part of a group giving electronic engineering support to the development, manufacture and operational activities of our Rotary Steerable Systems.

The ideal candidates will have:
  • practical experience in electronic design and anufacture
  • the ability to perform accurate fault diagnoses on complex systems
  • some understanding of mechanical engineering and physics
  • a minimum of ten years' experience in the electronics industry
  • good communications skills
Candidates must be educated to graduate or HND level. A good knowledge of Altium Designer software and the ability to manipulate PIC and processor software would be an advantage

ELECTRONIC TECHNICIANSThe successful applicants will join our team of highly skilled people working primarily on the electronic assembly, testing and servicing of Well-Guide RSS™.

The ideal candidates will have:
  • the ability to achieve a high standard of assembling / repairing both through-hole and surface mount assemblies
  • the ability to produce wired looms and assembled connectors to a high standard
  • a minimum of five years' experience in the electronics industry
  • good communication skills

Applicants for both posts should be computer literate; be able to work unsupervised and under pressure and have a positive and conscientious attitude. The successful candidates will be required to spend the first few months of their employment training at our Cambridge facility, but the position will be based in Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, England.
